President Trump’s illegal bombing of Syria in mid-April, 2018, along with the complicity of English and French leaders, is an extension of Western imperialism that sadly remains unchecked due to America’s excessive military might. By spending significantly more on its armed forces than most of the rest of the world COMBINED, America maintains a morally superior stance through its “might makes right” policies.

I consider this an affront to humanity, in addition to how funding in America is funneled out of positive human projects such as education, the environment, and health care into engines of destruction such as our military. Despite claiming they use money for “defense,” the Pentagon cannot even hope to convince American citizens that we were physically threatened by unconfirmed Syrian government chemical weapons. 40-some people died in Syria, and for that our leaders made an excuse to kill many, many more.
