Is something I never rejected
But if you look at me
You might never suspect it
‘Cause I’m a jester
Life without humor
Now that’s a test, ah
One that I never want to fall on

When I go to the library it’s
Because I’m gregarious
No, that’s not what scary is
Gosh, how hilarious!
Reading on philosophy
That’s what enlightens me
And feeds the branches of my growing
Brain tree

See all the connections
I’d like to persist, now
These are bogus elections
I want to resist, how?
They say we have a voice, but
I hardly have choice, and
To claim my views are represented
That would just be unprecedented

Leaders rallying people with fear
How much longer can we persevere?
This isn’t just rotten politic
It’s psychology of the sick

V2: At my house I live in peace / there might be a mouse
I think that’s okay ‘cause it forces me to clean
What about us humans makes us so self-righteous
That we’d kill creatures just because they have small brains
Is there a correlation between IQ and our value
To our planet or just inflated egos?

If I had to postulate I’d hypothesize
That our greatest skill lies in polluting skies
Warming up the oceans, and tearing down trees
At this rate there soon won’t be an ocean breeze
Animals wash up on shore, trapped in plastic shackles
Oil spills deep underwater and there’s no punishment
What capitalism considers wealth needs to be
Reevaluated before it’s too late
The ancient ability to provide food for ourselves
Doesn’t require slaughter and can be done rather cheaply
To subsist on very little is the way to our future
But we are locked into jobs that numb our precious minds
We need to see outside the system that prevents us helping our kind

So be the catalyst
Don’t just shake your fist
Fight for the chance
To freely exist
