lyrics

Cave drawings give me a clue
But they’re so vague, they just won’t do
I wish I could step into the past
But so sadly it can’t be done
The only history that gets respect
Is one that’s written in scripted language

Help me for I’ve lost my self
Past swallowed in a forgotten hell
Our holy rites never writ for the shelf
And so I can only guess what they could spell

But what of before
Back when we spoke?
If it’s not written
It seems like a joke
Look at the pottery
Animal motifs
Worshiping sun, our great life giver
In our present day fact holds no sway
Liars and swindlers alike get their way

Help me for I’ve lost my self
Past swallowed in a forgotten hell
Our holy rites never writ for the shelf
And so I can only guess what they could spell

Help me for I’ve lost my self
Past swallowed in a forgotten hell
Our holy rites never writ for the shelf
And so I can only guess what they could spell
