Do nothing
I’m not mad, I’m not
But this is the truth that I live with
I shall never sleep calmly again

As the night slithers into my room
It is joined by a loathsome but nameless dread
A nameless, gelatinous, pulpy green slime that comes seeping
Into my head
This dark, oozy thing
Though a dream, is no dream
It is anything but ethereal

Its voice not a voice, has a color
It’s black with a darkness that’s almost material

The story begins with my uncle who’s dead
Who was jostled to death with a bang
By a dark and mysterious nautical man
Who was quietly ushered away
If only I’d known the things I know now
I would not have agreed to his will
And read in his papers the things I would read
The things that haunt me still

These things I must tell
So that none of you merge
On this road with me
Down into hell
And then join me in sinking
To depths of despair
Please, don’t join me
I swear I shall never sleep calmly again
